An autumn ceremony at the Hidden Pond and a party under the stars
Abbey and Sam brought the colour: bright bouquets in pink, orange and blue, white pillars by the water and a dance floor that stayed full long after dark.
They said I do at the Hidden Pond, tucked away beneath a towering gum, then wandered over the bridge at the Bridge & Lake and out along the red-dirt track for golden-hour photos.
Their reception was right here on the property, under the gums and under the stars. No marquee needed.
The set-up
Long tables facing the paddocks
Abbey styled much of the day herself. Long timber tables with pink runners and single roses looked out over the Turf Paddocks, with festoon lights strung through the gums for later. There were wine barrels and pink stools for cocktail hour, a checkerboard dance floor beside light-up A&S letters, and a wicker couch for the two of them. Every guest had a vintage glass waiting for them, tagged with their name on a ribbon.
The ceremony

White fluted pillars topped with bright blooms from Florally Studio, celebrant Hayley Ramsay, live music from Bianca Feher, and the dappled shade of the big gum over the pond. Then back up the aisle through a cloud of confetti.
The bridal party

The whole bridal party squeezed onto the bridge at the Bridge & Lake: bridesmaids in hot pink, groomsmen in black, and Sam in his cream jacket.

After the ceremony, Ross Menz took Abbey and Sam across the bridge at the Bridge & Lake and down to the water, where their two boxers joined in for a photo. Then out along the red-dirt track under the gums as the sun dropped, drinks in hand.
The reception

Food came from Golden Elephant Berri and Pete's Pizza, with a cake moment under the trees at dusk. Then Abbey slipped away for an outfit change and came back in a short second dress with a fresh haircut, a surprise even Sam didn't see coming. From there it was onto the checkerboard dance floor beneath the festoon lights, where DJ Caleb Nagy kept everyone dancing until late.
