An autumn ceremony facing the Turf Paddocks and a party beneath the festoon lights
Natassja and Angelo filled their day with soft blues, sage green, native flowers and the people they love most.
They said I do at the top of the Main Garden, under the gums and our wooden triangle arbour, facing out over the Turf Paddocks. Then it was off to our private lake with their bridal party, and a wander through the garden and around the Hidden Pond for portraits.
The reception was set out in the bottom half of the Main Garden, so as the sun went down everyone simply wandered down to a marquee under the gums, lit with festoon lights, for dinner, speeches and dancing under the moon.
Before the big day
Pre-wedding photos
Before the wedding, Natassja and Angelo came out to Greenfield Acres for pre-wedding photos with their photographer, Irene Lyu, on the bridge, by the old gate and under the loquat tree. They turned out beautifully, and it is lovely to see the same spots again on the day itself.
The set-up
Blue, white and eucalyptus
Something we had not seen before: Natassja and Angelo set up their story along the entrance garden, so guests walked past timber pallets filled with photos of the two of them over the years and a welcome mirror on their way through to the ceremony. Up top, our wooden arbour was dressed with white and blue blooms and the aisle chairs were tied with eucalyptus and pale blue ribbon.
The ceremony
I do under the arbour
With the gums on either side and the Turf Paddocks stretching out in front of their guests, Natassja and Angelo said their vows at the top of the Main Garden. Then came the certificate, and a walk back up the aisle through a cloud of confetti.
The bridal party
Sage green on the bridge
Bridesmaids in sage green, groomsmen in grey with sage ties, and bouquets of protea, banksia and eucalyptus from Riverside Wildflowers. Everyone squeezed onto the bridge over our private lake for a photo, perfectly reflected in the water below.
Around the garden
Through the monstera to the water
Irene Lyu took the two of them all over the garden: through the monstera to the old gate by the lake, under the loquat tree, and around the Hidden Pond, where Angelo twirled Natassja across the lawn beside the big fan palm.
The reception
Under the festoon lights
Dinner was served from the Jimmy's Cruisin Kitchen food truck, with a marquee from Occasions Events set up in the lower Main Garden under the gums and festoon lights strung between the trees. After the speeches came the cake and a full dessert table, the shoe game, and a dance floor that stayed busy all night.
